EMPTY BOWLS
NON-PROFIT REBRAND

Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement initiated by artists and craftspeople worldwide. Through donations from artists and local kitchens, bowls and soups are provided for the event. Attendees will pay an entrance fee, choose a bowl to use for a simple meal, and keep it at the end of the event as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
Sketches
Experimenting with different ways to portray their organization full of artists and craftpeople. The logo needed to be a simple mark to not take away from the artist and also reflect the simple meals served at their events.
Colors
Classic soup colors were chosen for this to accentuate the work of the people. Squash and Tomato will be used as the primary color palette, while Navy Bean will be used as an accent.
Elements
Custom icons were created to use in text and identify dietary restrictions for their menu.
The "soup bowl swirl" is a combination of the top view of an artisan bowl and the finishing touches of cream on top of the soup.
Website
The home page is designed to help people understand their mission and goals at first glance. It was also important to highlight all the Empty Bowl events taking place around the globe, as well as resources for people to host their own events.
Application
An example of what the menu can look like for each event, clearly indicating the dietary restrictions along with short descriptions of each soup.
